Home' Capricornus Quarterly : April 2015 Contents 3
Dr Phillip Moulds
In this edition of we review the performance of Year 12
students over the last six years. The compiled results show
that our students consistently perform at the top level.
They do not achieve those results single-handedly. It takes
the support of their peers and parents and the direction and
guidance provided to them by their teachers and RGS staff.
Whilst Year 12 is challenging for each individual student, it is a
challenge, too, as a School, to remain in a leading position over time.
For an organisation like RGS to remain
relevant there has to be a cer tain sense
of restlessness and a desire to question
the status- quo. To pursue change that will
benefit students as well as the institution.
For us, that means continuing to
grow who we are, what we stand for
and what we want to achieve.
Over the last couple of years we have
done this by renewing our campus with
the additions of The Beasely Centre
and The Birkbeck Building. We have
established The Dance and Musical Theatre Academy, broadened our
Tablet PC programme for students and restructured our Co- curricular
of ferings. This year we are expanding and investing in our Agricultural
Science programme and have been able to secure for our students the use
of Belmont Station, a real working cattle property and research facility.
We will also complete the new Primary drop-off/pick-up zone in 2015.
RGS aspires to be both traditional and innovative and, in that, I see
no contradiction. So as we grow and change the challenge for us, over
time, is not to limit our definition of excellence but to be open to all
oppor tunities and avenues that enable us to achieve our best, ever y day.

The Rockhampton Grammar School takes seriously the challenge of preparing students for today’s world. We treat each
student as a whole person through a balance of academic, sporting, co -curricular and social activities. Our School motto is
